Dear Believers,

We have one rehearsal before the first of two Veterans Concerts (Saturday, November 6th at 11:00am and Thursday, November 11th at 7:00pm).

Please be sure to print “The Star-Spangled Banner” (#533) which we perform at most concerts.

I encourage you to practice with the recordings put together by Ron Foster.  Here is the Dropbox link with the MP3’s. They are accessible from PC, MAC, and Smart Phones.

The performance on Saturday, November 6th is shaping up to be a part of a fun, event-filled day!  The American Legion Post 7 will be hosting a barbecue fund raiser, a car show, and more.  The fund raiser will benefit 14-year-old Katie Nanny, a gymnast involved in a car accident.  She has broken both legs and will endure many surgeries.  It is an honor to be a part of such a noble cause as we celebrate the service and sacrifice of our veterans.  Specific details of the day will follow when they become available.

Concert dress for both concerts is as follows:

November 6

  • Men – Believers Band polo shirt, khaki pants
  • Ladies – Believers Band polo shirt, khaki pants or capris

November 11

  • Men – Black tux, white shirt and black bow tie
  • Ladies – All black

Here is the concert order:

  • Star Spangled Banner (#533)
  • American Flourish (#757)
  • Journal for a Soldier (#694)
  • Big Band Tribute (#50)
  • American Heritage March (#527)
  • Songs for America (#429)
  • From Sea to Shining Sea (#656)
  • Armed Forces Salute (#552)
  • Patriotic Singalong (693)

Please be practicing as we want a stellar performance to honor our veterans!  Let’s work on being able to play straight through each piece without stopping (I will too!).

We are in the process of distributing Songs for America flyers and publicizing our concerts.  Some of you picked up flyers at our last rehearsal.  We have printed additional copies and will have them on hand Monday.  We encourage you to take some and post them in your church or neighborhood.  You can also click the link above to print copies or share the link.

I look forward to seeing you on Monday night!

Have a blessed weekend,

David
