News from the Board

The Board of Directors has accepted Robert Cuttino’s resignation as President. We appreciate his tireless commitment to the job and service to the band. The Board unanimously approved Vice-President Brian Stancill’s move to the President’s position.

According to our By-Laws, we should have held officer elections just prior to the end of 2020. However, due to the unique circumstances presented to us by the COVID crisis, we did not hold elections this past year. Each officer agreed to continue in their position until such time as things returned to “normal.”  Now that we are meeting regularly again, and we are 6 months into the current calendar year, the Board is making the following recommendation for band members to prayerfully consider.   This will be voted on at our next rehearsal on Tuesday, June 1st.

Recommendation:
The current Board will continue to serve in their respective positions until the end of calendar year 2021.  The vacant Vice President’s position will be filled as soon as possible.  The next officer elections will be held as usual in November with a new Board starting their terms January 1, 2022.

If the band majority votes “Yes” to the above recommendation, we will begin actively seeking nominations for Vice-President, to serve through the remainder of this calendar year. As with any volunteer organization, it is important to have members who step up and assist with leadership roles.  We are fortunate and blessed to have had so many serve in officer’s positions throughout our existence. If you are interested in the open Vice-President’s position, or if you know anyone who might be interested, please contact one of us as soon as possible.

As we all look to the future, we appreciate your dedication to our organization and perseverance through these trying times. Your contributions through music and service are highly valued. We are who we are because of the grace of God and the gifts He has given us, which you share so generously.
