Dear Band:
I hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day Weekend. To paraphrase Harry Truman: “Our debt to the heroic men and women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude.” Thank you to all of you that have served or are serving. God bless you.
Starting this week, John LaForge will be at our rehearsals going over the pieces that we will do with the chancel choir for the Patriotic Concert on June 25th. Please make every effort to be rehearsed and present. We have 5 rehearsals remaining before the concert. We will do fine but it will take some personal practice at home. Following are the pieces that will be on the program (not in program order):
*041 – National Emblem (trio only)
118 – The Liberty Bell (BCB – concert opener)
152 – God Bless the USA (BCB)
416 – The Stars and Stripes Forever (BCB and CC – concert closer)
552 – Armed Forces Salute (BCB and CC)
533 – The Star-Spangled Banner (BCB and CC)
576 – They the Builders of the Nation (BCB and CC)
654 – God Bless America -5 (BCB and CC)
655 – Festival of Freedom (BCB and CC)
(* = New)
(BCB = Believers Concert Band)
(CC = Chancel Choir)
After this concert, we will take some well-deserved time off for the summer. If you want to mark your calendars, we will be starting back after the summer break on August 22nd. Let’s focus on making these next 5 rehearsals count so we will have a fantastic Patriotic Concert to show our military how much we appreciate their service.
Regards,
Larry
