Dear Band:
I was very proud of how we performed at the two (very long) dress rehearsals this week. Not only did we perform the music well, we were focused and played well as an ensemble. Thank you for your flexibility on a last-minute seating change. I think it will make a big difference in our intonation and balance.
Just a reminder that our call time Sunday will be 2:30 PM. The dress will be “concert black.” I can use some help at 12:30 to set up the stage for the concert. Be sure to invite your friends and neighbors on Sunday as it will be a very fine, well attended and much appreciated concert.
After Sunday, we will take some well-deserved time off. We will not meet again until the middle of August. I will send out an email later with the exact start date. When we start back in August we will have several new pieces of music as we prepare for our Veteran’s Concert on November 5th. I am excited about some of the things we have planned for that concert and can’t wait to tell you about them when we start back in the fall.
During this summer break, continue to ask your circle of friends about joining the band. We can use new players in all sections. Also, it wouldn’t hurt to practice from time to time.
I appreciate your commitment and what you do for the band.
Regards,
Larry
