Dear Fellow Musicians,
We are fast coming to the conclusion of a very successful 2024 for both the Believers Concert Band and Southern Journey Big Band. As required by our Bylaws, we hold our Annual General Meeting of the Band membership at this time each year. The purpose of the meeting is to present a Yearly Financial Report and elect the 2025 officers for next year’s Board.
The Annual General Meeting will be the first order of business at the beginning of this coming Monday’s (Dec. 16th) Concert band rehearsal. The nominations committee suggested and the Board approved the following candidates to be presented to the membership for the 2025 Believers Band Board:
- President – Betty Foster
- Vice President – Val Schmid
- Treasurer – Jody Sanders
- Secretary – Val Davidson
After the proposed slate of 2025 officers is presented to the membership, it will be opened for further nominations and discussion from the floor. If there are no additional nominations, this slate will be voted on as a group to serve one-year terms.
If you are a member of either band and cannot be present for Monday’s meeting there is still a way for you to vote. If desired, you can email Board Secretary Betty Foster with your Yes or No vote (frhs64-times@yahoo.com). Your vote must be received no later than an hour before the December 16th meeting. Nominations must be presented at the meeting.
The Board wishes to thank all of you for the time and musical talent that each of you has dedicated to our group. We look forward to continuing our fellowship together as we bring entertainment and awareness of musical opportunities to our community.
