Dear Band,
I understand that rehearsal went well Tuesday. I am sorry that I missed it, but I felt that it would be best to let Bill and Beth take charge.
To bring you up to speed with things. Thursday, I went to the doctor. He indicated that the spine situation was like a cracked rib. I would just have to put up with the healing process. As far as the torn Rotator cuff, two of the four Ligaments/tendon are separate/torn. As he said “this is a no brainer.” The surgery is scheduled for September 25, with three to four months recovery time.
What this means is simple, with your commitment, the concert goes on as scheduled for Sunday afternoon, November 10, with Beth, Bill and Larry directing this year. John has also offered his support. I have no doubt that we will have an excellent concert. I only wish that I would be able to teach and direct some.
We also need to decide if we commit to the Jingle Mingle Christmas concert on the Square. I believe the date is November 21. If we do plan on playing, then we will need to schedule the rehearsals to cover the Christmas music. With your customary enthusiast support, I don‘t see any problems in getting it all ready.
We also will be preparing for the Christmas Is One Language program with the Jazz Band for Sunday, December 1. Our plates are getting full.
I mention all of this to give you a heads up. At Tuesday’s rehearsal we will spend a little time on our commitments. Isn’t it exciting doing things differently?
We are very fortunate to have all this talent and support.
Thanks to all of you. Be safe and see you Tuesday. Please bring to rehearsal all of the fall music we have been working.
Richard
