Dear Band,
Congratulations on an excellent concert. It was difficult at first for me to get used to not being in front of you. Then the anxiety of the concert left and the PRIDE set in. As they say in Kentucky, “I was in hog heaven.“
Everything we worked on over the past two weeks really came together. The entrances and note durations were well done. The balance and the articulation were right on.
I was extremely pleased at how well you adjusted to the different conductor’s styles and to the variety of styles of music you played. It is a compliment to you, Beth, Bill and Larry in how well you focused and played as a unit.
We will talk a little more at Tuesday’s rehearsal. Without a doubt you have a reason to be proud.
I am extreme thankful for Beth, Bill and Larry in their ability and their willingness to serve. Thanks guys!
Also, please note the following email I received from John this afternoon. He has been there in case we needed him.
Following is a list of music we will be working on over the next two weeks for the Jingle Mingle event. Please note that Russian Christmas Music is new and must be down loaded.
Looking forward to directing a little Tuesday.
Be safe,
Richard

From John LaForge
“Richard,
I want to congratulate you and the Believers Concert Band on a highly successful Veteran’s Concert yesterday afternoon. I know you must be extremely proud of the musicians and guest conductors for presenting such an outstanding program, as well as all the hard work that went into it. What a privilege it is for Gainesville First United Methodist Church to be associated with a volunteer wind ensemble of such quality and reputation in the community.
I am thankful for your leadership of the BCB and wish you the best for the remainder of the concert season.
Sincerest regards,
John”
