Good Morning Believers Concert Band!!!!!!!!!
Can’t wait to see you again. I look forward to Tuesday’s rehearsal.
I need to mention a couple “SERIOUS” things – the attendance has been off over the past two weeks – PLEASE make every effort to be at rehearsal for the remaining two rehearsals before the dress rehearsal and as many dress rehearsals as possible. We still have some “wood shedding” to do on a couple songs and the put them together. If at all possible please make the rehearsals. Thank you.
Trumpets – as I listen to the rehearsal recordings from the past two weeks it seems as if some of the notes on The Battle Hymn of The Republic and God Bless America are too high for some of us. We are not hitting the notes on pitch and then, after we reach the note, we are playing so loudly that we are blowing the note out of tune. If you find that the notes are too high, please play the note an octave lower. I will seriously be working on these “high note” sections Tuesday and may ask some of you to play the notes down. If you get a few minutes to work on those numbers I would appreciate it.
Thanks to Debra, who noticed that we had not included The Star Spangled Banner on our play list. Please add 533 The Star Spangled Banner to the play list and bring it with you to all remaining rehearsals.
What a month May was – thanks for all you do and for your contribution.
Be safe and hope to see you Tuesday
Richard

Yippee ki-yay all you Cowboys and Cowgirls,

Our second rodeo went off without a hitch. Not a single buckaroo was thrown off their horse. Nice outfits also – we even had one of the wranglers packin’ a six shooter (had to leave it in the car though).

The children made me and the audience smile as we watched them sitting in the band. The little girl in the flute section kept clapping and fingering and touching one of the flute player’s flutes as we played. You could tell that the little boy watching the tuba and drums was fascinated by being there. Wesley in the trombone section was proud to be by his grandpa.

Thank you for all your hard work getting the music together. I personally had a great time watching you enjoy yourself. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.

Now we need to think about Lakeside Worship Service and next Tuesday’s rehearsal.

Lakeside Worship Service, THIS Sunday, May 22, WE PLAY “RAIN OR SHINE!”

Please bring your stands in case of rain and we have to set up inside.

Be at Lakeside at 8:00 and help set up. We will warm up and start playing at 8:15.

The music list and song order are listed below. Note: they have not told me when we will play the Hymn, Come Thou Almighty King so be prepared to play it at anytime.

The “uniform” for Lakeside is the blue Believers Band shirt and Kaki trousers, shorts or skirts.

Clothes pins could be helpful as well as a sweater, sunglasses and a cap.

Remember – THERE ARE NO RESTROOMS AT THE LAKESIDE.

If it looks like rain please arrive a little early to help move chairs and set up in the Sanctuary – Thanks!

NEXT TUESDAY’S REHEARSAL.

We will start concentrating on our music for the June 26, choir/band Patriotic Concert. John will be there for much of the rehearsal to work on the Choir/Band numbers. The music needed for the rehearsal is listed below. Also below is the schedule of rehearsals through the June 26. Please bring all the music for the Patriotic Concert to all remaining rehearsals.

Last night’s concert was a big boost for me. You are to be complimented.

As I have said before – I am pleased to be your director.

Be safe and see you Sunday

Richard
