Dear Band,
Thank you for a very rewarding and fun rehearsal. The Cowboy Concert will be well played and fun. Below are some additional songs for the Cowboy Concert that I would like to play through next Tuesday. If any of you have something “Cowboy” that might make the concert more meaningful, please let me know.
I was particularly pleased that so many of you will be playing for Tab Shelton’s memorial service on Saturday afternoon, at 2:00. Please check below for the list of songs for the service. Please bring all of the songs listed to rehearsal Tuesday and all of the songs listed for last week, thank you!
I would like to thank Mike Rossi (Trumpet) for taking part of the rehearsal. Next week Dr. Lee Barrow (Bassoon), will be working with the band for the first time conducting The Wild Western. Welcome, Lee, to the Believers Band’s podium.
January has already started off in high gear. We have four rehearsals before the dress rehearsal. Please keep practicing – thank you. REMEMBER, WE NEED SOME CHILDREN TO SIT IN WITH US ON A COUPLE SONGS!
Remember to check our web site if there is any concern about the rehearsal being called off because of the weather.
Stay dry and warm. Hope to see you Tuesday.
Richard
PS: Just a side note, I called Ida Shelton Wednesday to tell her that most of the full band volunteered to play. She was not home so I left a message. She called me this morning to tell me that she was at the Social Security waiting room when she got the message – she said she “just broke out crying. It’s going to be such a nice celebration.”
