Happy New Year

As I look at the Christmas cards and reflect on 2013, I am so thankful for the relationships that have developed through the Believers Band. I am thankful that we have found a winning combination to use our talents in a positive and fun way. Your efforts are appreciated.

2014 looks like another fun filled year. As you can tell from the new music list below, we have some great music to pick from. The theme for the Spring Concert will be “The Common Man“. We will play Copland’s Fanfare For The Common Man as the opener. We will also play some foot tapping songs from Broadway musicals and movies.
As you print off your music, please take a few minutes to mark the key signatures and the time signature changes. Several of the new songs are written in the key of C, which gives us trouble sometimes.
Our first rehearsal for 2014 will be Tuesday, January 7th, at 6 p.m.. We will be sight reading some of the new music and also playing some of the old songs on the list below.
Please check your calendars for Sunday afternoon, April 27, for the Spring Concert and the Veterans Concert on Sunday afternoon, November 9th.
Would you also please check your calendar for a possible Patriotic Concert with the choir on Sunday afternoon, June 29? We are trying to put a program together depending on your availability to play. The theme could be western this year.
Two other things to think about, we are considering a band trip this year. We are also considering a “MOB” Concert which could be a lot of fun. We’ll talk more about this later.
Without a doubt, 2014 will be a “Goose Bumps Guaranteed” year! We will have a great time and lots of fun. You are a special group and it is my pleasure to be with you.
