Dear Band,
Well, it looks as if we have another “weather event.“ The church will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
This brings up an issue that I didn’t anticipate, getting our music prepared for the spring Concert. After Tuesday, we will have nine rehearsals remaining plus the dress rehearsal at Pierce Auditorium on April 22. That may seem like a long time, but with all of the new music and tricky rhythms, we could be pressed to play everything as well as we want to.
Because I don’t want to get behind, I have made the “preliminary” list of songs for the Spring Concert. We will spend the next three rehearsals “wood shedding” some of the hard parts. Please note that I have added one song to the list, Lead on O King Eternal, 79. This is not an easy song. We will be playing this with the choir for the Patriotic Concert on June 29.
Another “Oh by the way,” with all of the on again and off again rehearsal schedule, some of us have gotten out of the Tuesday routine of coming to rehearsal. We need you! Please make every effort to be at rehearsal if you are in town. THANKS!
I had planned on talking to Karol Evans about Ron’s condition before I sent this letter but ran out of time. Please use the following address for the Caring Bridge site which you can access to follow his progress, Caringbridge.org
I hope to see all of you Tuesday.
Richard
