Thanks for a good rehearsal last night!  It is always an adjustment moving into the sanctuary and getting used to a different conductor.  I know you will look over the parts that gave you trouble and we will do good work at rehearsal tomorrow night.  I am certain that we will all feel more comfortable and confident for our performance on Sunday.  Remember, the lighting is not ideal in the sanctuary.  Bring a stand light.

Please take some time to look specifically at the following pieces before tomorrow’s rehearsal:

576 They, the Builders of the Nation – Tempo is faster, watch the key changes and accidentals
788 I Hear America Singing – Tempo is faster (mm=120) – play light – softer when the choir is singing
416 Stars and Stripes Forever – always needs attention to the details

Here is the schedule for the rest of the week:

  • Wednesday, June 22 – from 6:30 – 8:30 pm – GFUMC Sanctuary 
    • 6:30-7:00 pm – Believers Band Warm-up and short rehearsal
    • 7:00-9:00 pm – dress/tech rehearsal with the GFUMC Choir and tech crew
    • Clear off the stage for worship service on Sunday Morning
  • Sunday, June 26 – Patriotic Concert!! – park in the side and back lots!
    • 2:00pm – set-up chairs, stands and percussion equipment – store cases etc. in room N-110
    • 2:30-3:15 pm – warm-up, etc… 
    • 3:15-3:55 pm – break, dress, don’t go into the choir room until after 3:30 pm, relax in rooms N-119 and N-120, etc…
    • 3:55 pm – Be in your seats, ready for the concert
    • 4:00 pm – Performance
    • 5:00 pmish – After performance – clean up, etc…

    • Welcome and Introductions
    • From Sea to Shining Sea – choir only
    • This is My Country – choir only 
    • Presentation of Colors
  • 041 – Trio from National Emblem March
    533 – The Star-Spangled Banner – with choir
    • The Pledge of Allegiance
    • Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor – choir only
  • 576 – They, the Builders of the Nation – with choir
    • Sing-Along
    • Offertory Prayer
    • God Bless America – choir only
