Dear Believers,

I am continually amazed at the helpful nature of the Believers Band.  Thanks to everyone that pitched in to help set-up and take down the stage last Monday.  

Monday, I was reminded how different it sounds, to you the players, when we play in the sanctuary.   That is why it is important to have more than one rehearsal in that space.  I want to remind you that you need to play just like you would play in the choir room.  We have one more rehearsal to get ready for an outstanding dedication to Larry. 

Remember the dress rehearsal:

  • Saturday, May 6th
  • 9-9:45 am – Set-up (please help):
    • Percussion first
    • Then chairs and stands
  • 10:00 am – 12 noon – rehearsal in concert order
  • After the rehearsal, we need to set up the sanctuary for Sunday’s worship services. 

Concert dress – Formal Uniform:

  • Men – black tuxedo, white shirt, black bow ties, and black shoes and socks
  • Women – long black skirts (or black dressy pants) with a black blouse

This is the schedule for Sunday, May 7th:

12:45 pm – Set-up (please help):

  • Percussion first
  • Then chairs and stands

1:15 pm – Arrive a GFUMC – Please park by Dunlap Road or behind the church

1:30 pm – Down-beat – Warm-up in sanctuary – Each piece: beginning, end, and transitions, etc…  

2:15-2:30 pm – Move into the choir room

2:45 pm – Finish warm-up, tune in choir room 

2:50 pm – Pray

2:55 pm – Enter sanctuary

3:00 pm – Concert begins

4:15 pm – End concert

Please help put everything away (chairs, stands and percussion)

We will rehearse on Monday, May 8th.  We will start working on the Lakeside Service and GFUMC Patriotic Concert music.

Here is the concert schedule for the rest of the year:  

Lakeside Service – Sunday, May 21 at 8:30 am

Cresswind at Lanier – Thursday, June 8 at 6:30 pm

Patriotic Concert with GFUMC choir – Sunday, June 25 at 4 pm

Keep practicing to make our Movie Matinee Concert awesome and an appropriate dedication to Larry Preiss.
