Chuck McKissick, longtime drummer of the Believers Concert Band, passed away on Oct 18, 2020.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Sat, Oct 24, at Lakewood Baptist Church, 2235 Thompson Bridge Rd. Gainesville, Ga.
Chuck began playing drums at 13 years old and was involved in music of some form for the rest of his life. He spent 20 years in the US Army Band system, playing drums and percussion at recruiting concerts all over the US and Europe. He continued after retirement, playing in local bands and orchestras, including Back In Time, Gainesville Symphony, Toccoa Symphony, Northwinds Symphonic, and others. He played for Presidents, foreign dignitaries, celebrities and famous musicians. He was in a Scottish Pipe and Drum Band who backed up Faith Hill when she sang the National Anthem at the Super Bowl in Atlanta. He also was part of the adjunct faculty at both Truett McConnell University and Toccoa Falls College. We will miss his humor but his rhythm will live on. Our prayers go out to his family.
