Mar 1, 2018 – The Believers Concert Band

Dear Band:

Blimey are you ready for a blinding (great) concert! It’ll be bloody cool!

It was good to be in the sanctuary on Tuesday. It sounds different than in the choir room. We need to play confidently like we do in the choir room so be sure to practice. For the medleys I suggest playing with a recording (links to recordings below) to get a better feel for the tempo changes. If we practice, play with confidence, ‘then Bob’s your uncle’ and we’ll have a brilliant concert!

It is supposed to be sunny on Sunday. I would suggest that you bring some groovy sunglasses to complete your outfit, especially if you are on stage left (opposite the front window). Also bring a music stand for warm-up in the choir room.

This is the schedule for Sunday:

12:15 pm – Set-up chairs and stands in sanctuary and choir room.

1:30 pm – Warm-up in sanctuary – Just to get comfortable with the hall.

Each piece: beginning, end and transitions.

2:15 pm – Move into the choir room and get changed into British outfits

2:30 pm – Finish warm-up, tune in choir room (bring music stands)

2:50 pm – Enter sanctuary

3:00 pm – Concert begins.
