Dear Band:

Great rehearsal last night. We got through all of the music and identified several places that need your attention. I really liked Steve’s comment about Community Bands and “once a week musicians.” We can’t afford to be a once a week musician this week. Please spend some time on this music. Thank you.

The rumor is that there will be some special moments during and after the concert. Several (nice) surprises. Please keep what you know a secret. We don’t want to spoil any surprises for Richard and Rita.

On Sunday, we need to keep focused, play together as an ensemble, and enjoy the moment.

Looking ahead, below please find the list of music to bring to rehearsal next Tuesday. We will begin work on music for a Lakeside Service on May 21st, and the Patriotic Concert on June 25th. Make sure you have these dates on your calendar.

079 – Lead on Oh King Eternal
107 – Morning has Broken
118 – The Liberty Bell (concert opener – BCB)
152 – God Bless the USA (BCB)
168 – Precious Lord Take My Hand
180 – At the River
416 – Stars and Stripes Forever (concert closer – BCB and CC)
468 – The Battle Cry of Freedom (BCB)
512 – American Anthem
518 – Deep River
520 – America The Beautiful
522 – A Hymn for Band
552 – Armed Forces Salute (BCB and CC)
576 – They the Builders of the Nation (BCB and CC)
630 – Battle Hymn of the Republic (BCB and CC)

TBD – Festival of Freedom (BCB and CC – music not on web yet)

It is a pleasure and an honor to be part of this concert and I hope you feel the same way. Without your commitment, none of this would be possible. I hope you all know what special people you are.

Regards,
Larry
