Good Morning Band,
Thank you for another productive rehearsal. It never fails – I always get an uplifting feeling when I work with you!
As I review the music and start my lesson plan for next week, I am taken back at how much you have developed and matured as a band over the past couple years. We are playing a very interesting and challenging concert. Congratulations!
We have four rehearsals before the “Dress Rehearsal”. Everything seems to be on schedule for a very nice concert. To avoid repeating the changes, it would help if everyone could all be at the remaining rehearsals. At next week’s rehearsal we will try and finish up the work on the tempo changes/transitions and work on the solos in selected songs. We will concentrate on The Man Of La Mancha 578, Portrait Of The American West 578, The Golden Age Of Broadway 564, Annie 482, Andrew Lloyd Webber in Concert 494 and Old Tent Meeting 438. We will be concentrating on dynamics, articulations and playing together (listening).
Following is a “short” list of songs for the concert. I have removed the following from the Spring Concert “Consideration” list:
567 – A Hymn Tune Rhapsody
594 – March Slav
595 – Cumberland Cross
Looking forward to seeing you Tuesday.
Be safe.
Richard
