Dear Believers Band,

It is that enjoyable time of the year when all but one Jazz Band  performance is over and I can slow down and take the time to reflect on the events of 2016 and the things that make me thankful.  Without a doubt, I am thankful for you, who you are and what you do.

There were so many memorable events throughout 2016.  Hearing you mature musically is gratifying, but more than that, I am thankful for the people in the band and the fellowship.   I am thankful that you want to be a part of an organization which is greater than any of us individually.  I am thankful that the Lord put us together and keeps us together.

I hesitate to call out individuals, but feel the need to mention a few; I don’t know what we would do without Parker Henderson and all he does for the band and Col. Rudy Lanier who keeps us focused.  I am thankful for Alana and Warren for their dedication to the band and help in getting Board items finished for the year.

Before our next rehearsal,  I will let you know about some of the fun things to anticipate for 2017.  Following is the schedule for the Concert Band.  Please check your calendars and possibly clear the dates.

Over the years, it has been my desire to have you play music that I consider “good” music.  You are to be congratulated on your accomplishments.  The Association of Concert Bands of which we are members, just published a list of the top 51 titles played by its members for 2015.  Of the list, we have played  all but five of the titles.  Congratulations!

Someone said after the Jingle Mingle outing, “With the exception of a couple bumps in the road, this was another great year.”  It was a great year.  2017 should be fantastic!
